The Prime Minister's office (PMO) has directed 13 petroleum-sector Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) to double their capital expenditure to ₹2 lakh crore in FY21. They have also been directed to scale it up further to ₹3 lakh crore in FY22. This comes despite the companies meeting less than a third of yearly targets in the first half.
