After the government allowed sale and registration of electric vehicles without pre-fitted batteries, Mahindra Electric CEO Mahesh Babu said no country has such a policy. "Up to sales, the OEM is responsible for the safety of the vehicle. A vehicle is tested, manufactured and sold as an integrated vehicle and the OEM is responsible for the warranty,” Babu added.
