Retail inflation in July rises to 6.93% as food prices rise nearly 10%

India's retail inflation rose to 6.93% in the month of July, beyond the RBI's upper limit of 6%, the data released by the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI) showed. The food inflation, according to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) data, was 9.62% in July. The retail inflation for the month of June was revised to 6.23% from 6.09%.
