SC has stayed Uttarakhand HC's contempt proceedings against Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal for allegedly failing to pay rent for the government bungalow he was staying in. Uttarakhand HC had ordered former state CMs to pay market rent for the period they occupied government accommodation since demitting office. Pokhriyal was among those named in the plea alleging non-compliance of HC order.
