Tata Sons has confirmed that it is evaluating a bid for debt-laden Air India, adding it has no plan to bring in a financial partner. The government had extended the deadline to bid for the national carrier to August 31. Tata Sons already has two aviation joint ventures – Vistara with Singapore Airlines and AirAsia India with Malaysia's AirAsia Group.
