$5tn project proposed to restore Arctic ice using 10mn pumps

US-based physicists have proposed a 10-year-long $5-trillion project to revive the Arctic ice using around 10 million wind-powered water pumps. The pumps would bring water to the surface for it to freeze and thicken the ice cap. It's unlikely that CO2 levels can be decreased in time to tackle climate change, so restoring sea-ice artificially is imperative, said the lead.
