₹1 crore fine imposed on CDSL by SEBI for cybersecurity lapses

SEBI imposed a penalty of ₹1 crore on Central Depository Services (CDSL) for alleged failures in cybersecurity measures after a malware attack in November 2022. SEBI said the 46-hour disruption on the settlement process had a major impact on the entire securities market. It added that the attack was a foreseeable outcome of lapses that accumulated over time.
