Russian billionaire Yuri Milner, who is funding the $100 million search for aliens, has announced a $1 million prize for crafting the best message to send to the aliens. Advising against writing messages in human languages, astronomer Frank Drake who has been working to find extraterrestrial intelligence since the 1960s, said, "Some people have foolishly composed messages in English".
