$119 billion spent on nuclear weapons in 2025; India 6th largest spender

A report by International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) said nine nuclear-armed states spent a combined $119 billion on their nuclear arsenals in 2025. The US topped the list with $69.2 billion. China was the second-largest spender at $13.5 billion, followed by UK at $12.6 billion, Russia at $9.5 billion, France at $7.7 billion and India at $2.8 billion.
