₹15,000 kit proposed to make any car E20, E85, E100 compatible

A new proposal by the Indian Sugar & Bio-energy Manufacturers Association (ISMA) could allow existing petrol cars to become flex-fuel compatible through ethanol conversion kits costing around ₹15,000. The technology has shown promising results in tests conducted with IIT Delhi, but regulatory approvals, localisation, and large-scale deployment are still pending.
