$16 billion stolen yearly during Sheikh Hasina's rule: Bangladesh govt
An average of $16 billion (₹1.35 lakh crore) may've been illicitly siphoned out of Bangladesh yearly during ousted PM Sheikh Hasina's 15-year rule, a committee formed by interim leader Muhammad Yunus found. The panel probed seven projects with over $836 million expenditure outlay each. The initial cost of $9.5 billion was revised to $16 billion by Hasina government, it said.
