₹185-cr tax evaded by illegal pan masala & tobacco manufacturer in UP

A clandestine pan masala and tobacco manufacturing network operating from six unregistered premises in UP was found evading ₹185 crore in GST, HSNS Cess and Central Excise duty. The Lucknow Zonal Unit of Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) seized 15,50,922 pouches of pan masala and tobacco products, 27 undeclared pouch-packing machines and raw materials. The proprietor was arrested.
