₹2-crore scam at King George hospital in UP, records show cancer medicines given to fake patients
A suspected ₹2-crore scam, wherein cancer medicines procured under the UP government's Asadhya Yojana were allegedly shown as administered in the names of deceased or fictitious patients, has surfaced at Lucknow's King George's Medical University. Medicine purchases reportedly rose from ₹10 lakh/month in October-November 2025 to ₹45 lakh in March 2026. A five-member committee has been formed.
