₹2 extra on water bottle triggers ₹1 lakh fine for restaurant in Uttar Pradesh

A consumer commission in Uttar Pradesh imposed a ₹1 lakh fine on a restaurant in Hathras for making a customer pay ₹20 for a water bottle, which had an MRP of ₹18. The customer demanded compensation worth ₹10 lakh and submitted the restaurant's bill and the bottle's label as proof. The commission said the restaurant engaged in unfair trade practices.
