₹250 fine for crossing yellow line in Kolkata Metro

From June 1, 2025, Kolkata Metro will begin imposing a ₹250 fine on passengers who cross the yellow safety line on station platforms. This measure, aimed at discouraging unsafe commuter behaviour, marks a significant step in improving passenger safety and maintaining order across metro stations. The fine has been categorised under "creating nuisance" in the metro premises.
