₹3,000 cash, free bus rides for women to start in Bengal from June

The newly elected BJP government in West Bengal will roll out the 'Annapurna Bhandar' scheme, which promises a ₹3,000 direct cash benefit to eligible women every month, from June 1. Free travel for women in government-run buses will also reportedly take effect the same day. The Centre's Ayushman Bharat healthcare scheme will also be officially implemented from June.
