₹499 cr rail doubling project to boost Bihar freight capacity

Indian Railways has approved a ₹499 crore doubling of the 44.4 km Mansi-Saharsa section in Bihar to ease congestion and improve rail operations. The project will support 24 pairs of passenger trains and increase freight capacity by 1.764 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). It will strengthen the transportation of agricultural produce, cement, fertilisers, and other essential commodities.
