₹5,000 fine proposed for riding on Bengaluru footpaths

Motorists riding on footpaths in Bengaluru may soon face a ₹5,000 fine under a proposal by Karnataka Minister Krishna Byre Gowda. The plan aims to protect pedestrians and curb traffic violations. The minister also directed officials to relocate bus stops near junctions, enforce one-side parking rules, and launch awareness campaigns to improve traffic management.
