5 Iranian women footballers granted Australian visas after anthem protest

Five players of Iran’s women’s football team were granted humanitarian visas by the Australian government after they sought asylum, fearing persecution if they returned home for refusing to sing the national anthem before an Asian Cup match. Earlier, US President Donald Trump urged the Australian PM Anthony Albanese not to send them, claiming that players would most likely be killed.
