₹843 crore pollution cess remains unused in Delhi: CAG Report

A Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report showed that ₹843.12 crore collected under the Environment Compensation Charge (ECC) in Delhi remained unspent as of March 2025. The report further flagged that the records for the collections under the charge were missing for 280 days. The cess is levied on commercial vehicles as they enter Delhi to mitigate air pollution.
