₹9.5-lakh-crore wealth wiped out as Sensex, Nifty fall after HMPV cases found in India
Investors lost ₹9.5 lakh crore as Sensex and Nifty fell 1.5% each on Monday after India reported its first three cases of HMPV in Karnataka and Gujarat. This is the highest single-day fall in investor wealth in three months. Apart from HMPV cases, Asian markets awaiting critical economic data and weak sentiments from US also contributed to dip in indices.
