'AI hasn't progressed as quickly as expected', Zuckerberg after firing 8,000 staff for AI

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg acknowledged that the company's firing of 8,000 employees was haphazard as executives miscalculated the timing of the AI-focused restructuring, Reuters reported. He told employees in a town hall meeting that AI agents hadn't progressed as quickly as he'd expected. He added that Meta's bets on AI "haven't come to fruition yet".
