'Alien-like' predator found by scientists in ocean depths, named 'darkness'
Researchers from US and Chile have discovered a new predatory species with 'alien-like' features, naming it 'Dulcibella camanchaca', wherein 'camanchaca' means 'darkness'. Four individuals from the species were found at a depth of 7,902 meters, off South America's western coast. Measuring about four centimetres in length, the amphipod has white translucent colour and it preys on smaller amphipods.
