‘Baudhayana–Pythagoras Theorem’ added in Class 8 NCERT maths book

The Pythagoras Theorem has been introduced in the Class 8 NCERT mathematics textbook as the ‘Baudhayana–Pythagoras Theorem’, linking it to ancient Indian texts. The book says ancient mathematician Baudhayana, believed to have lived in the 8th-7th century BCE, first gave the theorem. It adds that Pythagoras, who studied and admired it, lived a few hundred years after Baudhayana.
