'Extinct' flat-headed cat reappears in Thailand after 30 years

Authorities in Thailand have spotted the critically endangered flat-headed cat for the first time in 30 years, raising hopes for the species’ survival. More than one individual was seen in the Princess Sirindhorn Wildlife Sanctuary. The last sighting near the Thailand-Malaysia border was in 1995, and officials had feared the species extinct by 2014.
