'Ghost shark' among 1,121 new marine species discovered in oceans

The "ghost shark" chimaera, a distant relative of sharks and rays, was among 1,121 new marine species discovered in world's oceans over the past year. Researchers also identified symbiotic bristle worms living inside a "glass castle" on volcanic seamounts in Japan and a new Mediterranean shrimp species near Marseille. The discoveries marked 54% jump in species identifications in a year.
