'Gondhal' picked as India's official entry for Oscars 2027

Marathi thriller 'Gondhal', directed by Santosh Davakhar, has been selected as India’s official entry for the Best International Feature category at the 2027 Oscars. Last year, Neeraj Ghaywan’s Homebound, starring Ishaan Khatter, was selected as India’s Oscar entry, but it failed to secure a final nomination. The 99th Academy Awards will be held on March 14, 2027, in Los Angeles.
