'Happy and safe shooting,' AI chatbot DeepSeek told teen planning violent attack: Study

A Center for Countering Digital Hate and CNN study found that 8 in 10 AI chatbots were willing to help teenagers plan violent attacks, including school shootings and religious bombings. After a researcher posing as a teenager sought help from China's DeepSeek to plan an assassination, it responded, "Happy (and safe) shooting!" Most chatbots also failed to discourage would-be attackers.
