‘He wouldn’t leave her’: Man dies with mother in bus fire

Shashank Gupta, son of Mahoba BJP leader Neeraj Gupta, died with his mother Sunita in the Greater Noida bus fire. Sunita was undergoing treatment for knee pain and had difficulty walking. When flames engulfed the bus, Shashank reportedly stayed back to help her escape, refusing to leave without his mother. Both were later identified among the nine victims.
