'Homebound', shortlisted for Oscars 2026, accused of plagiarism

Journalist-author Puja Changoiwala has taken legal action against Dharma Productions, alleging that 'Homebound', which has been shortlisted for Oscars 2026, plagiarises her 2021 novel with the same name, reported Hindustan Times. Puja explained, "Producers have not only misappropriated title of my book, but also blatantly reproduced substantial portions of my novel in second half of the film."
