Indian Air Force has issued tender for Mid-air Refullers

The Indian Air Force has issued a tender for six mid-air refuelling aircraft, all to be converted from Boeing 767 passenger jets, with Israel Aerospace Industries and HAL emerging as key contenders. The RFP includes a 30% Make in India clause, limiting OEM interest. India currently relies on ageing Il-78 tankers and a leased KC-135.
