'Iron Lady of Assam' becomes 1st woman to lead CRPF's elite CoBRA unit

Sanjukta Parashar, a 2006-batch IPS officer called the 'Iron Lady of Assam', has become the first woman to command CRPF’s elite CoBRA unit. A JNU and DU alumnus, she has earned a reputation for leading anti-insurgency operations in Assam’s forests. CoBRA is among the CRPF’s most elite operational units and was created specifically to deal with guerrilla and jungle warfare.
