'Lazy' US Army chemist wore Crocs to handle nerve agent, died later: US Military nuclear chief

US military's Chemical Nuclear Surety chief Andrew Hugg told an undercover journalist that a US Army chemist died after being exposed to Sarin, a nerve agent that US said it had destroyed in 2023. "[The chemist] wore Crocs and got lazy," Hugg said, adding that the chemist "didn't like" wearing protective gear. The Sarin soaked through her skin, he said.
