‘Maharashtra will not force Hindi on anyone,’ says Eknath Shinde

Ahead of BMC election, Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde said Hindi will not be forced on anyone in the state. He said Marathi is not just a language of “communication” but also one with global relevance and reach. “We're ready to protect Marathi...It's a matter of joy that Marathi has been given the status of a classical language,” Shinde added.
