'No plans to impose tolls in Malacca Strait,' clarifies Indonesia
Indonesia has no plan to impose tolls on ships passing through Malacca Strait, Finance Minister, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa clarified on Friday. Indonesia would abide by UN Convention which outlines rules governing waterways used for international navigation, he added. This comes after he suggested the idea of imposing toll on Wednesday, saying Indonesia could leverage its geographical position.
