‘No special powers’: UP cop resigns over 24x7 duty

A Varanasi police constable resigned after being assigned continuous 24x7 duty, saying he had no “special powers” to work around the clock. Devgan Kumar Chauhan also alleged favouritism in duty allocation at Ramnagar police station. Senior officers counselled him, following which he withdrew his resignation and confirmed that he would continue serving in the police department.
