Omar-led cabinet passes resolution for J&K statehood in 1st meet

In its first cabinet meeting, the government led by Omar Abdullah passed a resolution urging NDA-led Centre to restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. CM Abdullah is expected to travel to New Delhi and hand over draft of resolution to PM Narendra Modi. Notably, Article 370 was abrogated and Jammu and Kashmir was reorganised into two union territories in 2019.
