Over 350 insurgents running extortion rackets held in Manipur

Over 350 insurgents were arrested during a crackdown on extortion rackets in Manipur. These insurgent groups mainly demanded money to resolve matrimonial disputes and took "cuts" from business houses that had been allotted various government tenders. Officials said after imposition of President's Rule in Manipur, insurgents are becoming more desperate for funds and more brazen in their methods.
