'Possible Love' becomes 1st Korean film to win Silver Lion at Venice film fest

Lee Chang Dong's directorial 'Possible Love' made history at the 2026 Venice Film Festival after winning the Silver Lion Grand Jury Prize, the second-highest honour. It became the first Korean film to receive the prize, earning a six-minute standing ovation at its premiere. Lee won the Silver Lion for Best Director at the festival 24 years ago for 'Oasis' (2002).
