'Purified electoral rolls' needed for healthy democracy: CEC

Referring to SIR, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar said electoral rolls need to be “purified” from time to time and that only Indian citizens should be included in the voters’ list. “Purified electoral rolls are essential for healthy democracy,” Kumar said. Voter list purification exercise has been completed in Bihar, and the drive is ongoing in 12 states, he added.
