'Referendum' on creation of Khalistan held in New Zealand

A controversial "referendum" on the creation of an independent Sikh homeland, Khalistan, was held in New Zealand's Auckland on Sunday. The referendum was organised by pro-Khalistan group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), which has also held similar events like this before in Canada, UK and Australia. SFJ has been banned in India since 2019 and has been deemed a terrorist organisation.
