'Santa Claus rally' begins with S&P 500 at new high

US stocks rallied into Christmas as the S&P 500 hit a fresh record and all three major indexes traded higher. Ryan Detrick of Carson Group said a 'Santa Claus rally' is likely. Santa Claus rally, refers to stock market’s tendency to rise during final five trading days in December and first two trading days of the new year.
