'Trans women are not women,' rules UK's Supreme Court

The Supreme Court of the United Kingdom has ruled that the legal definition of women doesn't include trans women. The court was hearing whether a trans woman, who has a gender recognition certificate, should be protected from discrimination under the Equality Act 2010, which protects women. The top court said the law referred to a "biological woman and biological sex".
