US scientists are teaching Bharatanatyam to robots
Robots learning Bharatanatyam sounds like an unexpected fusion. But researchers University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) are making this true, using the 2,000-year-old dance form to teach robots precise hand gestures. The research team, led by UMBC professor Ramana Vinjamuri, found that the Indian classical dance form produced gestures with great flexibility and accuracy in robots.
