We should not be squeamish in swearing by Swadeshi: Chief Economic Adviser

Chief Economic Adviser V Anantha Nageswaran said Indians should not be "squeamish in swearing by Swadeshi" in current global environment. CEA said the nature of global system has changed and trade is no longer reciprocal. The Economic Survey 2026 noted India operates in an environment where access to inputs, technologies, and markets cannot be assumed to be frictionless or permanent.
