Indian-origin New Zealand midfielder Sarpreet Singh, who made his FIFA World Cup debut against Iran, was born in Auckland. The 27-year-old, who currently plays for Wellington Phoenix on loan from Serbian club TSC, became the first player of Indian descent to play in the Bundesliga in 2019.
