Why government may not extend ITR deadline this year?

Tax experts believe an ITR deadline extension is unlikely this year. The government already eased portal traffic by extending the deadline for non-audit businesses to August 31, Sandeep Sehgal, Partner at AKM Global said. The portal's grievance-redressal system is efficiently resolving issues, minimising need for further administrative intervention, said Naveen Wadhwa, Vice President at Taxmann.
