Arundhati Bhattacharya takes charge as first woman chief of SBI
Arundhati Bhattacharya on Monday succeeded Pratip Chaudhuri to become the first woman chairperson of the State Bank of India (SBI). Bhattacharya (57) was earlier MD and chief financial officer of SBI. Arundhati, who joined SBI as a Probationary Officer, has held a number of important positions during her 36- year tenure at the bank and also headed SBI Capital Markets.
