1,000 food containers stuck at Mumbai port amid Middle East war
Over 1,000 containers carrying perishables like grapes, onions, and papaya are stranded at Mumbai's Jawaharlal Nehru Port, NDTV reported. This comes as shipping to the Gulf has stalled amid Middle East conflict. Containers, which are parked and plugged in to maintain refrigeration, cost ₹8,000 per container per day, and offloading will incur an expense of ₹5,000-6,000 per container, NDTV added.
