1.3 million TV set-top boxes secretly infected with malware by Google's Chinese partner
Google has cut ties with China-based Videostrong Technology after discovering that it had secretly installed a backdoor in around 1.3 million Android devices, most of them TV set-top boxes. The infected devices were used without owners' knowledge for malicious activities, including ad fraud and routing criminal web traffic. Google said it has since dismantled the backdoor.
